Sam Smith Leads 2015 Brit Award Nominations, The War On Drugs & 5 Seconds Of Summer Vie For Best International Group

The nominations for the Brit Awards 2015 has just been announced, and the field is led by singer Sam Smith home race. He picked up nominations for Best Album of the Year, Best Male Solo Artist and Best Single and Best Music Video for "Stay with Me". FKA twigs got nominations for Best Female Solo Artist and Best New Artist, Jessie Ware got one for Female Solo and Chvrches were nominated for Best New Artist. (Interestingly, the latter were not nominated at all last year when their debut album would have been eligible.) For non-UK artists, the war on drugs will go up against five seconds summer, The Black Keys, First aid Kid, and Foo Fighters for Best International Group. Beck, Hozier, Jack White, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, Beyoncé, Lana Del Rey, Sia, San Vicente, and Taylor Swift are all for International Male and female artists respectively.
